Just edit the Skill Points of the Ability you want while making sure 'Customize Leader' & 'Editor' are both selected. Then select Setting tab, and select Abilities tab. Well besides better visible banners to locate units on the "real" map, i also would like a fullscreen version of the minimap. Open AoWDevEd.exe, select 'Open Mapset' and then select Release.hss (in the Age of Wonders/Release folder). In comparison something like Assembly in blue colors always have a better contrast. Gotta say though that in 95 out of 100 turns i don't need to switch to military view some exceptions are when you play e.g. Also the economy view is vital to keep an eye on city expansion planning etc. On the stylized map you can switch to military view, which shows all units very clearly. General advice for a good gameflow is to always play so far zoomed out that you can switch between the "real" map and the stylized map with one tick of the mouse wheel. PF has a more organic looking landscape, also units and their banner are smaller. AOW3 has much less detailed graphics, so the game elements are easier to spot.
